❤️ Social Emotional Learning.

How children feel, name and manage their inner world. The SEL Impact Team integrates the CASEL five-competency framework into the curriculum and the daily routine — through A.I.M., the Mood Meter, and a vocabulary of emotion that grows year on year.

Intent

Why we teach this

  • Every child can name what they feel, why, and what to do about it.
  • Adults model self-awareness and self-management; children practise both.
  • Emotion vocabulary is taught explicitly, not assumed.

Implementation

How it lands in classrooms

  • CASEL five competencies frame our work: Self-awareness · Self-management · Social awareness · Relationship skills · Responsible decision-making.
  • A.I.M. (the daily check-in routine: Awareness → Intention → Make-it-happen) opens every classroom.
  • The Mood Meter (Storm / Sunshine / Cloud / Calm) gives shared language for inner weather.
  • The L.I.F.E. PSHE programme provides the curriculum spine for explicit teaching.
