Our mission

Mission

Cosmos Primary aims to create a well-structured student-centred learning environment with collaborative efforts by the school leaders, educators, parents and the students themselves. The following are principles set for the school community to guide its efforts to create a positive and thriving school culture.

  • Learner Centred Education

Educators will be expected to use evidence-based pedagogical practices to collaborate with students in a way that will allow for student choice, self-discipline and autonomy, giving them some control and letting them decide how and what they learn. The student will be a central part of the learning process, while the educators will play multiple roles as a guide, mentor, counsellor and facilitator.

  • Increased Teachers' Professional Capacity and Leadership

To inspire excellence in educational practices and encourage active participation and informed decision-making by all the teachers in the school, they will be supported with access to resources, information and expertise for self-directed professional development and encouraged to assume roles of leadership, within and beyond the school community.

  • Strong School Leadership

To establish a democratic learning community, the school leadership, including the administrators and head teachers, will aim to inculcate a culture of shared goals and collective efforts in a manner that will foster a belief that leading is not restricted to formal positions but is distributed to the entire school community, including educators, students and parents, each contributing with their diverse perspectives.

  • Strong Ethical and Trusting Relationships

The entire school community, including the school leaders, educators, students and parents, will be encouraged to foster relationships amongst each other to nurture an environment of transparency, cooperation and trust – relationships between school leaders and educators to allow the educators to feel confident and secure in providing honest input and meaningful participation in the school's decision-making and its progress; relationships between educators and students to have a long-lasting positive impact on students' academic motivation as well as their social and emotional development; relationships between school leaders, teachers and parents to work together in cooperation, with a common sense of responsibility towards student achievement and school improvement.
