The parent partnership
The Nurture Parent Club.
A threefold connection. Child, parent, educator. Our mission is to build a strong, collaborative, and supportive partnership with parents.
Our goal
Educated · Engaged · Empowered.
Parents at Cosmos are partners, not subordinates — informed about their children’s learning, involved in their development, and confident to support them at home.
The three Orientation Pillars.
Pillar 1
Curriculum Orientations
What & how we teach. Once-a-term webinars and workshops covering English, Maths, Science, Languages, Computing, and Global Perspective — with practical strategies to support academic progress at home.
Pillar 2
Culture Orientations
How we behave and learn together. Once-a-term workshops aligned with Positive Behaviour (S.T.A.R.), Social-Emotional Learning (Skills of the Heart, Zones of Regulation), and Effective Learning habits.
Pillar 3
Community Orientations
How our school community runs. Sessions on the Parent Handbook, fee policy, communication channels, transport, uniform, attendance, and safeguarding — orienting parents to the systems of school life.
Dialogue, voice & volunteership
How parents engage through the year.
Alongside the three Orientation Pillars, the Club runs ongoing dialogue, parent voice, and a volunteer programme.
Year-Start Orientation
A welcome session for new parents — explaining the Club’s purpose, the year’s plan, and inviting applications for Parent Representative roles through a light selection process.
Parent–Teacher Meetings
Termly one-to-one dialogues between class teachers and parents on each child’s academic, social, and emotional progress.
PTA Meetings
Governance meetings with Parent Representatives covering school-wide planning and decisions.
Tea with SLT
Small-group informal conversations with the Senior Leadership Team — a space for candid dialogue with school leadership.
Parenting Forums
Open discussions on parenting challenges, shared experiences, and practical tips between parents.
Feedback Sessions
Termly sessions to gather parents’ feedback on Club activities, school programmes, and areas of interest or concern.
Parent Volunteership
Opportunities to contribute time and skills to events, drives, and school activities — with induction, pre-event briefings, event-day support, and recognition. Tracked through a dedicated Parent Volunteer Registry.
Resource Sharing
Regular social-media updates and an online resource centre with tips, articles, and resources to support your child’s growth at home.
The Club has a simple structure: a school-appointed Club Coordinator runs the calendar (with staff who are also parents joining the coordinating team where possible), Parent Representatives volunteer as liaisons between the school and families, and every parent of a Cosmos child is automatically a General Member.
Through the Nurture Parent Club, Cosmos Primary fosters a supportive community of Educated, Engaged, and Empowered parents — partners in every child’s academic, emotional, and social journey.
